Donato De Santis was born in Milan in 1964. He grew up in La Puglia, in southern Italy, where their ancestors lived, of which they are dated until the year 1399. It was formed in their country of origin and dedicated to professional cooking since 1980, with his first steps in the kitchen of the Antica Osteria del Teatro in Piacenza next to Chef Georges Cogny and then in restaurants and private houses on the Italian rivieras. In 1984 he moved to the United States where he worked in the main restaurants of the cities of Los Angeles (Primi, Un Ristorante), Santa Monica (Valentino), Hollywood (Chianti & amp; Cucina), Chicago (Bice), Palm Beach - where he was in charge of opening Bice - and Miami (Bice from Coconut Grove). His creativity in the kitchen led him to meet the rich and famous and finally in 1993 he was hired as a personal chef by designer Gianni Versace for his Casa mansion Casuarina in Miami Beach and then in New York City. He settled in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the end of 1999.
